Properties
Brass is a copper alloy, which is not sealed on purpose, resulting in a natural patina that turns every item into an object which is unique.
Care and cleaning
Use a soft and dry cloth for the regular cleaning of brass surfaces. Avoid contact with dampness, acetic acid or organic acids like lemon or fruit juice as these can cause a rapid darkening of the brass. Never use scouring agents or abrasive sponges. The untreated brass surface will oxidize over time and turn into patina. This process can be stopped with special cleaning products. Avoid any contact of these products with other surfaces under all circumstances.
Properties
Ceramic is a natural material that is shaped by the use of water, dried at room temperature and then hardened by a firing process. By applying glazes, which are fused onto the ceramic, the ceramic gets its smooth and coloured surface.
Care and cleaning
Use a soft and dry cloth for cleaning. If necessary, a damp cloth may be used. Dry immediately afterwards with a soft, dry and clean cloth. Never use detergents containing solvents, scouring agents or abrasive sponges as these will attack the glazed surfaces.
Properties
For its furniture and accessories favius exclusively uses high-quality fabrics from renowned European producers, which are able to live up to the qualitative and ecological requirements of the company.
Care and cleaning
For general cleaning purposes, vacuum-clean your fabric cover with half the suction power. Fabric consisting of polyurethane should be wiped with a dry or a slightly damp cloth. Most stains can be removed with a cloth and warm water.
Properties
Hand-blown or cast glass is produced in a manufacturing process. Slightly differing wall thickness, differences in weight and size and colour as well as little air bubbles and varying textures are characteristics of each unique product.
Care and cleaning
Use standard window-cleaner and a soft cloth for cleaning. If heavily soiled accessories made by glass only should be washed in a mild soap solution by hand. Then polish them dry immediately to avoid residues of soap solution or water stains. Never apply scouring agents or abrasive sponges.
Properties
Although varnished wood possesses a high resistance to external influences, you should still avoid contact with sharp objects or rough surfaces. Excessive cleaning can damage the varnished surface
Care and cleaning
Varnished surfaces are particularly easy to maintain. Use a moistened soft cloth to clean the surface and then carefully dry it. Stains not amenable to removal this way can where necessary be eliminated using a mild soap solution. When doing so, you should avoid vigorous rubbing. Under no scouring use abrasive or scratching cloths or acid or strong alkaline detergents, as these attack the varnished surface. As a matter of principle, we recommend always immediately removing dirt and liquids to avoid damage to the surface.
Properties
Leather is a natural material characterized by its unique surface structure. It quickly adjusts to body temperature and is soft and comfortable. Natural markings of the hide structure, grain variations, scars and insect-bites as well as differing gloss and colour make each piece of furniture unique and authentic. With proper care leather develops a beautiful patina over the course of time.
Bend leather: With utmost care selected vegetable tanned cowhide with a thickness of 3,0 – 3,4 mm. Each piece of natural leather has its distinct character, is soak dyed and has a high degree of toughness.
Leather group A: Full grain, through dyed cowhide.
Leather group B: Through dyed cowhide with natural surface and soft to the touch.
Care and cleaning
For regular cleaning rub your leather furniture with a dry soft cloth. Spilled liquids should be mopped up immediately with a dry cloth to avoid efflorescence. As a matter of principle we recommend to treat your leather furniture twice a year with a leather lotion, ideally before and after the heating period. This will ensure that the leather remains soft and supple and is kept water and grease-proof. Never apply aggressive agents like stain-remover, shoe-polish or other cleaning agents and under no circumstances apply abrasive sponges.
Properties
Marble is a high-quality natural product varying in colour and structure and characterized by its significant crystal structure. This material belongs to the group of calcareous soft stones. It is relatively hard and homogeneous. Little craters and pores as well as visible and tangible cooling cracks can occur in the natural-stone plate, giving it its specific quality characteristics.
Care and cleaning
Wipe the natural-stone plate with a soft and dry for regular maintenance cleaning. If necessary, a damp cloth may be used. Dry immediately afterwards with a soft, dry and clean cloth. Liquids should be swiftly removed with a soft cloth so as to avoid permanent stains. Especially acidic liquids like champagne, wine or fruit juice attack the surface of marble and can damage the polish.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not lift your stone table by its protruding edges. The table-top might be damaged.
Properties
Wood is a natural product. Its unique grain turns every piece of furniture and accessory into something unique. Treated with oil the precious woods will retain natural feel and beauty. Wood reacts to its environment and its colour can be affected by light. Properly taken care of, your furniture will keep its characteristic and beauty for a long time and the developing patina will more and more enhance its charm.
Care and cleaning
Immediately remove stains and spilled liquids. The use of a dry cloth is recommended. If necessary, a damp cloth may be used. Dry immediately afterwards with a soft, dry and clean cloth. It is imperative not to use solvent-containing or acidic detergents. The use of the furniture will determine the frequency of cleaning measures. When the surface feels dry and rough or when your piece of furniture has noticeably lost its sheen, it should be re-oiled.
Properties
Colour pigments are baked into the powder-coated surface at a high temperature, so that the products are especially resistant and easy to maintain.
Care and cleaning
Clean the powder-coated surfaces regularly with soft cloth damped with clear water and rub them dry with another soft cloth afterwards. Never use detergents containing solvents, scouring agents or abrasive sponges as these will attack the powder-coated surfaces.
Properties
The production of porcelain has been honed by craftsmanship through the centuries. Porcelain is neutral in odour and taste, food-safe and water-proof and acid resistant, because of its dense surface structure.
Care and cleaning
Porcelain without decoration is generally dish-washer safe. It is recommended, however, to clean it in a mild soap solution by hand.
